Tottenham better off with or without Gareth Bale? 0

It seems that the Gareth Bale saga is drawing to a close as it’s likely that Bale will be departing London for Madrid in the coming week.

Bale has been part of a drawn out, distasteful saga of rumors. Real Madrid have once again been successful with their bullying tactics, by telling Bale that he may not get another opportunity to play for Madrid if he does not come this season.

The deal has not been finalized or anything as of yet but the transfer figure will range between 80-100 Million Euros, making him the highest transfer, and the highest paid player at Real Madrid.

Andre Villas-Boas did everything possible to keep the Welshman at White Hart Lane, but there comes a point where no player is bigger than the club and let’s be honest 80-100 Million can bulk up Spurs with more quality players giving them depth and in turn making them title contenders.

This brings up the question “Is Tottenham better off without Bale?” Sure he is a great player and pretty much carried Spurs to the 5th position last season, but after the transfers that have been made, and AVB giving the Prem a taste of his brilliant mind, surely upward is the only direction for Tottenham right?

With the acquisitions of Paulinho, Chadli, Soldado, and most recently Etienne Capoue, Tottenham already look to be a stronger outfit than they were last year, and threat as a TEAM, not just relying on one person.

At the moment Spurs still have Sandro and Kaboul coming back from serious injuries, both who will bring a lot to the table, and then there is Lewis Holtby who had moments of brilliance last season when given the chance. Andros Townsend, who returned from loan has been a bright spark for Spurs recently, taking on defenders, whipping in crosses, and tormenting the opposition.

With the money that should be coming in from Bale’s transfer, Tottenham have been linked with 2 more players, first is an unknown entity to most, Vlad Chiricheș. Chiricheș a center back plays for Romanian club Steaua Bucharest has apparently reached an agreement with Spurs for the price of 9.5 Euros and will be joining the London club this coming week.

The second player is AS Roma’s forward Erik Lamela. Lamela is expected to travel to London this week to complete the deal with a transfer fee rumored to be 30 Million Euros. Lamela perhaps will be the something special that Spurs need to make them complete title contenders, maybe he will be slotting in right behind Soldado linking play and providing that magic Tottenham need.

With all this new superb talent that AVB has brought and is still bringing to White Hart Lane, I ask you readers ” Will Tottenham be better with, or without Bale?”
