More worries for Moyes 0

rioRio Ferdinand had his testimonial today, at Old Trafford where the Red Devils took on Sevilla FC in a friendly, where Rio was celebrating 11 years of service with the club.

Unfortunately for Rio and company, Sevilla FC showed up today to win and the Red Devils were left stunned in a 3-1 loss to the Spanish team.

Moyes did not come out with his strongest squad and unfortunately paid the price for it, which is a bit unfair to Rio as he has served the club well and perhaps they owed it to him to get a nice victory, at home, in front of 43,000 fans, 200 of them being there specifically for Ferdinand.

In the end Sevilla played a tough game and Marko Marin was the orchestrator of the night controlling the game, and leading his side to victory. Even though the Red Devils side was not full of starters, it was a team that many expected would have been able to have gotten a victory over Sevilla.

Is this a worrying sign for the team and Manchester Fans? More than likely it is not, as most fans know preseason does not reflect how a team is going to begin the season, it is a time to gain fitness, and a time for new players to familiarize themselves with the team quickly.

The upcoming game vs Wigan for the Community Shield will give the fans a better perspective on how things are at Manchester United, as I am sure Moyes rested some players today keeping this upcoming game in mind, as he would like to start his career at Old Trafford getting himself a piece of silverware.
